What people ask us
How much does residential pest control cost?
Costs vary by pest, home size, and how bad the problem is. As a rough U.S. guide, a one-time general pest visit often runs from about $100 to $300. Termite work and wildlife removal usually cost more, sometimes well into the thousands. The provider sets the price, not Tedanswer Pest Control. Ask for a written quote before you agree to anything.
Is pest treatment safe for kids and pets?
Reputable providers use products labeled for home use and follow the label. Still, ask what will be applied, where, and how long people and pets should stay out. Many treatments ask you to keep children and animals away until surfaces dry. Mention allergies, aquariums, and birds. For rodents, you can ask about traps instead of baits. The provider builds the safety plan, so ask every question before work starts.
How do I choose a pest control provider?
Keep it simple. Ask whether the provider is licensed and insured in LA. Ask what the treatment covers, which products are used, and whether follow-up visits are included. Get the price in writing. Walk away from anyone who pressures you to sign on the spot. Tedanswer Pest Control routes your request to a provider in the network, but you decide whether to hire. Quote before you commit.
What does Tedanswer Pest Control actually do?
Tedanswer Pest Control is a referral service. We do not treat homes or remove animals. When you call or send a request, we pass it to an independent provider in our network. The provider contacts you, inspects, quotes, and does the work. Referral, not repair. You are never required to hire the provider we connect you with.
What happens when I call?
Request a callback and describe the problem. You will be asked what you see, where, and for how long. Your request is routed to a provider in the network. Hours and availability vary by provider, so ask about timing during the conversation. The provider explains the next step, usually an inspection and a written quote. There is no obligation.
How can I tell if I have termites or mice?
Termite signs include mud tubes on foundation walls, shed wings near windows, and wood that sounds hollow or feels soft. Mice leave droppings, gnaw marks, and scratching noises in walls or the attic. Take photos and note where you saw them. Do not spray or disturb the area. A provider can confirm the pest during an inspection and explain your options.
Do I need to prepare before a treatment?
Ask the provider for a prep list, since every job differs. Common steps: clear baseboards and under-sink areas, pull furniture from walls, put away food and dishes, and secure pets. Bed bug treatment usually needs more prep, such as washing bedding on high heat. Termite and wildlife jobs may need access to the crawl space or attic.
Does homeowners insurance cover pest damage?
Often not. Some policies may cover sudden damage, but termite and rodent damage is commonly treated as a maintenance issue and excluded. Check your policy and ask your agent before work starts. Providers can often help document damage for a claim with photos and written inspection notes. Keep every report and receipt, and do not assume coverage.
